History & Owners
The Frost family has been working Registered Black Angus in Montana since the early 80’s. Terry Frost’s foresight, management practices and commitment to the animals, the land and their customers, has consistently produced a quality product.
Frosty Creek Angus Ranch is a dry land ranch. The ranch has been a fall calving operation for three years and finds this to be the most beneficial timetable for proper cattle maintenance in the Bull Mountains. Intense grazing rotation practices secure land progression and stability as the cattle benefit from aggressive weed control and specific grass seedings.
The original homestead was built in 1909 and was a home stake procured from the railroad by Gus Rehder. The logs were all hand hued, not only on the house but for the barn and the power house shed as well. The ranch began as a cow operation, survived a forest fire in 1926 and hardship Montana weather, still ventured into a sustaining cattle spread.
About the Owners
Frosty Creek Angus Ranch is a family affair. Wyatt William began purchasing registered Black Angus over 30 years ago and Terry has continued in the cattleman’s life. Not only has this herd gained in numbers and quality, but it has developed into an increase in family members as cattle people. Sons, Trent and Trevor, each have ownership as well as the five grandkids who now own and assist with cattle.
